Used Car Buying Tip #1: |
Have fun! Shopping for used cars, or any cars
for that matter, should be a fun experience. If any situation becomes too
stressful, simply take a step back. You are in the drivers seat. The seller
needs you buy their used car, while you want to buy the used car. Take advantage
of this difference when buying used cars.

|
| Used Car Buying Tip #2: |
Check out the used cars repair record, maintenance
costs, and safety and mileage ratings in consumer magazines or online. Ask
for the used cars maintenance record from the owner, dealer, or repair shop.
Have the used car inspected by a mechanic you hire.
|
| Used Car Buying Tip #3: |
Test drive the used car on hills, highways,
and in stop-and-go traffic. Examine the car yourself using an inspection
checklist. You can find a checklist in many of the magazine articles, books
and Internet sites that deal with buying used cars from private sellers
and dealers.
|
| Used Car Buying Tip #4: |
Look up the " used
car blue book" value of the used car, and be prepared to negotiate
the price. If you're prepared, you may be able to negotiate thousands of
dollars off of the used car asking price. |
